Generous support provides more food aid to desperate Oddar Meanchey families

As an eery silience continues to hang over the villages of the remote Oddar Meanchey province in far north Cambodia, hundreds of families remain in a desperate situation as they are denied access to employment and are well and truly off the foreign aid radar because of their close proximity to the border dispute with Thailand.

But I'm so grateful that because of our extremely generous Supporting Cambodia community, we have again been able to roll out another substantial food aid program to these forgotten villagers caught up in a war they never asked for and desperately need Government leaders to resolve.

Our amazingly dedicated team, under the expert leadership of our project Director Pastor Abe, provided nutritious emergency food aid, and even a few special treats for the kids, to almost 300 families earlier this week.

Whilst this has a very obvious positive effect on hungry tummies, it also lifts their spirits to think that people thousands of kilometres away would care enough about their situation to put their hands in their pockets. So on behalf of these wonderful families please accept a heartfelt "akun" (thanks in Khmer) from all of us at Supporting Cambodia.

We would love for you to consider partnering with us in an array of great projects across two of Cambodia's poorest provinces by making a tax deductible donation today (or any day). You can contribute directly into our Australian working account ‘Supporting Cambodia’ BSB: 015-600 Account: 1967 91878 (Please include your name and email address in the transaction for a tax receipt) or with a credit card on our donation page.

Thanks again,

Rob

Rob Ellson, Chairman

Rob Ellson was one of a group of 15 Kangaroo Islanders who visited Cambodia for the first time in 2009. Witnessing a struggling community of more than 1,000 displaced people greatly impacted all of the Kangaroo Island group. After returning home to Kangaroo Island, Rob couldn't let go of the needs of those families.  Over the coming months and subsequent visits back to Cambodia he founded ‘Kangaroo Island Supporting Cambodia’.
